Kogod and the Washington College of Law (WCL) offer the first LLM/MBA dual degree program in the United States. This innovative program offers students in Washington, DC the unique opportunity to earn an LLM degree from WCL and an MBA degree from Kogod within two years. Students develop both the legal and business skills necessary to tackle complex business transactions and to succeed in today's global economy.
Thereafter, they may begin their MBA courses at Kogod or take additional coursework at WCL. To earn the dual LLM/MBA degree, course requirements for both programs must be fulfilled:
Two 25 page research papers
American Legal Institutes (for civil law-trained lawyers)
English for Lawyers (for students who need extra practice with English)
33 credit hours of required courses
Applicants considering the LLM/MBA must apply to both programs during the same application term. Applicants to the LLM/MBA program must first receive admission from WCL before being considered for admission to Kogod. After admission to WCL, applicants should complete the Kogod online application form and request that WCL forward their remaining application materials to Kogod for review and consideration, including TOEFL or IELTS scores.
The MBA program only begins in the fall semester, therefore, applicants admitted to the LLM program for the fall term must begin their studies at Kogod, if admitted to the MBA program. Spring applicants to the LLM program are ineligible for the LLM/MBA program.
