Math & Stats Program

The Math & Stats Program provided FREE, drop-in tutoring to American University students in mathematics courses, statistics courses, and in statistical software programs such as Excel, Python, R, SAS, SPSS, SQL, StatCrunch, and Stata. Tutors will help students learn course concepts, develop study strategies, complete practice exercises, and prepare for exams. 

Math & Stats Lab

Don Myers Building, Room 103

Tutors will provide in-person, drop-in tutoring to students on course concepts featured in MATH-125 to MATH-222 courses and STAT-160 to STAT-204 courses.

Math & Stats Lab Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 12:00-8:00pm
  • Friday: 12:00-3:00pm
  • Sunday: 3:00-8:00pm

Statistical Software Support

Tutors will assist undergraduate and graduate students, in-person, using and interpreting results from software such as Excel, R, Stata, SPSS, SQL, SAS, Excel, and StatCrunch. Tutoring will be held online via WCOnline.

Statistical Software Hours

  • Monday to Thursday: 12:00pm-5:00pm

Graduate Student Support

Additional drop-in tutoring hours for graduate students will be held online via WCOnline. Graduate students can receive support in introductory graduate-level statistical courses and in programs like R, Python, SAS, SPSS, SQL, Stata, etc.

  • Monday to Thursday: 3:00-9:00pm
  • Sunday: 3:00-9:00pm

Spring 2022

The Math & Stats Lab will operate temporarily online until January 31, 2022. Thereafter, in-person, drop-in tutoring in the Math & Stats Lab will resume in Don Myers Building.

All statistical software support will take place online in Spring 2022.

All tutoring within the Math & Stats Program will begin Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The schedules for tutoring can be found on WCOnline.
