The Office of the University Registrar enforces the use of the following standard teaching periods for classes taught in central classroom space to best utilize instructional space across campus and to provide more scheduling options to students by reducing the number of overlapping classes.
The standard approved teaching periods for undergraduate and graduate courses are predicated on a three-credit course and defined as Monday through Friday encompassing the teaching periods from 8:10 am – 11:00 pm. Standard daytime classes are 75-minutes in duration and meet on Mondays and Thursdays or Tuesdays and Fridays beginning at 8:10 am and every 95 minutes following until 5:20 pm. Standard evening classes begin at 5:30pm and every 85 minutes following until 11:00 pm. A block class is a class section that meets once a week for 150 minutes. Block classes are scheduled on Wednesdays and in the evenings beginning at 5:30 pm, and only at the approved block teaching periods. Standard three-credit course offerings meet twice a week for 75-minutes each period and a total of 150-minutes each week; or once a week during an approved block teaching period that meets for 150 instructional minutes.
