An underground group is a formerly recognized student organization or group that has lost or been denied university registration or recognition as a consequence of violating the Student Conduct Code and/or other university policy. Providing assistance to or in any way perpetuating the misconduct of an Underground Group is a violation of the Student Conduct Code and may led to expulsion from the university.

Requirements

American University Fraternity & Sorority Life (AU FSL) established a delayed membership process to better meet the needs of the AU community and FSL members. For students to be eligible, they must meet the following requirements:

• Be enrolled as a full-time matriculated undergraduate student;
• Be in Good Disciplinary Standing with AU;
• Earned a minimum of 12 credit hours at AU, after high school graduation;
• Advanced Placement (AP), International Baccalaureate (IB), or Dual-Enrollment credits do not qualify as acceptable credits;
• Transfer students with 12 credit hours from an accredited college or university are eligible but must submit a copy of their transcript from their previous institution to the Associate Director;
• Have earned a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
• Note: Some organizations may have additional or more stringent requirements specific to their membership qualifications.

Interfraternity Council

IFC Recruitment will occur from January 29^th  – February 6^th. To participate in IFC Recruitment, you must fill out the IFC Registration form, in its entirety. 

Things to know/prepare for:

• Recommendation Letters are not required.

• Schedule:
  • January 29 – PNM Orientation and Meet the IFC | 2-6pm (Kerwin T01)
  • January 30 – February 5 – Chapter Events (Chapters will share the location for each event.)
  • February 6 – Bid Day
  • February 7 by 5pm – Accept or Decline any Bid(s)
